ABOUT

My love for precious things with the patina of time on them dates back to my childhood visits to my grandmother’s house – an old palazzo in Ticino, full of stories and steeped in history. All the fascinating objects, the jewellery, the artwork on the walls, the hidden nooks and crannies I discovered, and the whole atmosphere of this place left their mark on me. These memories and my strong connection with nature and the mountains continue to inspire my creative work as a professional goldsmith.

My spontaneous and unconventional way of working breaks away from the strict precision of goldsmithing: shapes develop intuitively, recalling nature and archaic, antique jewellery. I fashion simple pieces which are rough and asymmetrical, and at the same time I place value on quality and durability. Each unique piece is carefully crafted, but I choose not to polish the gold to a perfect finish. Scrapes and traces left by my tools tell the story of how the piece was made and later, when it is worn, new marks appear which become part of the jewellery’s story.

I put a lot of care into the creation of my collection. Sustainability and the relationship I have to my materials are both important to me. I use recycled precious metals such as 18kt gold as well as quartz and other gemstones, some of which are sourced in Switzerland. I find inspiration on walks and hikes in Ticino, which is where my roots lie.
